Osun awards N1.3 billion electrification projects

Commissioner for Water Resources, Energy and Rural Development, Hon. Olusola Ajibola Komolafe disclosed this while speaking at the press conference organized by the Ministry of Information on November 12, 2009.
According to Komolafe, the electrification project was awarded to improve the standard of living of the people of Osun State.
Besides, the commissioner noted that the state government has purchased water treatment chemical worth N113.5million to improve the supply of portable water to the people of Osun State adding that N11million has also been released for general repairs at the new Ede Headwork in keeping the scheme running.
Hon Olusola added that 99 boreholes have been provided for public and primary schools in all the 30 Local Governments of Osun State promising that water and electrification project would be extended to all nooks and crannies of the state.
He said, “There are rooms for improvements to ensure that the electoral promise of Prince Olagunsoye Oyinlola in the area of water and rural electrification is extended to all the nooks and crannies of Osun State”.
While commending Governor Olagunsoye Oyinlola for his love for the people of Osun State, Hon. Olusola said that the present administration of governor Oyinlola has embarked on electrification of 7 farms settlements across the state through direct labour.
He said, “The awards of contract for the electrification in 41 communities are at advanced stage. It is no gainsaying that the investment of government in rural electrification will stem rural urban migration and thereby boost agricultural practice leading to increase commercial activities, improved standard of living and spread of other democratic dividends”.
