Osun State Chapter of Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) has petitioned the State Chief Judge, Justice George Ojo asking him to throw away the case filed by the State Commissioner of Justice and Attorney-General, Hon. Niyi Owolade on the bomb blast suspects, Osun Mail has authoritatively gathered.

The new move by the state ACN according to investigations is based on the insistence of Osun State Commissioner for Justice and Attorney-General, Hon Niyi Owolade to continue with the prosecution of the accused persons in the bomb blast saga.

The Inspector-General of Police, Mr Ogbonnaya Onovo was said to have ordered the State Police Command to send the case file to Abuja for fresh investigation based on Rauf Aregbesola’s petition but Hon Owolade stated that since a prima facie has been established against the suspects and the case already filed before a competent court of jurisdiction, it would be unnecessary again to release the case file to the police for investigation.

Worried by the AG’s comment, the party asked the Chief Judge not to assign the case to any judge for prosecution while alleging that the premise upon which the suspects were charged was based on the diary found in the car shattered by the bomb explosion of June 14, 2007.

Osun Mail further learnt that, in the petition signed by ACN Chairman in the State, Alhaji Moshood Adeoti and the party’s State Secretary, Gboyega Famodun took up the Investigating Police Officer (IPO) in charge of the case, ASP Adekunle Ayuba and the AG, saying they both colluded to nail the accused persons.

The ACN chieftains traced the history of the bomb blast, but noted that it was wrong to have charged them for murder saying such move was taken to keep them in prison perpetually.

Ten persons were held after the confessional statement of the prime suspect, Richard Abayomi Adesanmi, who stated that the plan to bomb INEC office and Governor Olagunsoye Oyinlola was hatched at Aregbesola’s home in Lagos.

Going by the state Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) advice, two of the suspects, Barrister Gbenga Akano and Magistrate Ayo Oyebiyi were discharged and acquitted in August 2010 by the Magistrate Court handling the case then.

And on Wednesday, August 18, 2010, the AG, Hon Niyi Owolade filed the bomb explosion case at the Osogbo High Court of Justice.

Those listed to face full trial are Sunday Laoye, Folarin Fafowora, Timothy Owoeye, Ganiyu Olayiwola Oyeduntan, Sunday Akere, Moshood Adeoti, Adegboyega Famodun and Gbenga Fayemiwo.

Laoye is a senior brother to Aregbesola’s running mate in the April 14, 2007 Gubernatorial Election, Fafowora is a lawmaker under the platform of ACN representing Ilesa-West, Timothy Owoeye is the Minority Leader in the State House of Assembly and Oyeduntan is a former Commissioner for Health.

Akere is the State ACN Director of Strategy, Adeoti is ACN State Chairman, Famodun is ACN State Secretary and Fayemiwo is a Media man to Aregbesola.

The case file, Osun Mail gathered reads: Charge (1) Conspired to injure by explosive substances contrary to Section 516 of the Criminal Code Law of Osun State (2) Attempting to injure by explosive substances contrary to Section 336 (3) Preparation to commit crime with explosive substances contrary to Section 514 (4) Acts intended to cause grievous harms contrary to Section 332 sub-section 3 and (5)Murder, contrary to Section 319.

* Polytechnic Rector joins race

The process of selecting a new monarch for Osogbo is now in top gear with the authorities of Osogbo Local Government formally meeting members of Laro Ruling House on Saturday, August 25, 2010.

Already, names of candidates who have indicated their interests from the four royal compounds of Laro Ruling House have been forwarded to the Local Government.

Only one candidate showed interest from Ijaoye compound, three from Lakanye, 16 from Omumuyiwa and two from Olokingboye

Osun Mail gathered that the meeting with Omumuyiwa compound was held at Aruru Opelaba at No 6, Sabo Road, Opelaba Compound, Osogbo.

A competent source told Osun Mail that Osogbo LG Secretary, Alhaji Akintayo Hamzat led other to management staff of the council to the meeting.

In attendance at the said meeting were all those jostling for the stool of Ataoja and other interested members of the Omumuyiwa’s Royal compound.

It was gathered that Alhaji Hamzat told all the contestants that it is not the responsibility of Osogbo Local Government to select any candidate for the vacant throne but explained that the onus rest on the kingmakers to appoint a new Ataoja.

And based on the outcome of their discussions, Osun Mail learnt that the Royal compound of Oba Omumuyiwa Olarooye has sent a letter to the Chairman of Osogbo LG intimating him of those who showed interest in the vacant stool of Ataoja of Osogbo.

Sources said that the letter signed by heads of each of the four arms of Omumuyiwa’s compound was sent on Monday, August 30, 2010 to the council boss.

Those who endorsed the letter are Salami Olanipekun (Baale Ile Opeleba), Kareem Oladapo (Baale Ile Idi-Omo), Adeleke Asunmo (Baale Ile Alare Iyiolu), Ganiyu Olawale (Baale Ile Asoja) and Prince Samotu Olayiwola Salami (Secretary of Omumuyiwa’s compound).

But out of the 16 candidates that had earlier signified their intentions, only 10 individuals were cleared by royal compound to contest for Ataoja’s throne.

Those whose names were sent to the chairman of Osogbo Local Government from Omumuyiwa’s royal compound are Prince Leo Adejare Muraina Awoyemi, Prince Musendiku Alamu Oyedeji, Prince Oladimeji Rasaki Gboyega, Prince Jimoh Oyetunji Olanipekun, Prince Sulemona Baderinwa Olayiwola Ajadi, Prince Mufutau Atanda Oduola, Prince Morufu Adewale Bankole, Prince (Engineer) Lamidi Lawal Oyeyemi, Prince Abideen Erinfolami Olayiwola and Prince Abdul Jelili Adebayo Azeez.

Prince Waidi Salami Olanipekun was cleared but Osun Mail learnt that he later withdrew from the race.

Those who were cleared, sources said are the candidates that submitted their particulars for scrutiny including payment of a mandatory N50,000 each to the royal compound’s purse.

Candidates that were dropped are Prince Ganiyu Fasanmi, Prince Adeoti Akimu Oduola, Prince Mufutau Sule Ajisafe, Prince Kamilu Azeez Gbadebo and Prince Sunmonu Tajudeen Dele Ahunwoloju.

But one of the contenders who joined the race late is Prince Oyeyemi, an Engineer and presently the Acting Rector of Igbajo Polytechnics, Igbajo in Boluwaduro Local Government.

Osun Mail learnt that Prince Oyeyemi is a graduate of City College of New York University, United States of America (USA) where he bagged his Bachelor of Sciences in Mechanical Engineering and his Masters Degree in Business Administration at Pan American University in Texas (USA).

Meanwhile, information available to Osun Mail showed that a new twist has been introduced to the emergence of Dr Jimoh Agboola as the sole candidate presented by Oyipi Ruling House to the kingmakers.

It was gathered that Prince Agboola, who is the incumbent National President of Osogbo Progressive Union, (OPU), was earlier endorsed by the three royal compounds of Oyipi but situation of things changed when one of the compounds dropped his name and replaced him with another person.

It was learnt that Prince Agboola enjoyed tremendous support from his Ruling House going by his endorsement letter signed by two family members from Weso, three from Iya Dudu and two from Oyetona.

But the Weso compound where Prince Agboola hailed from soon rejected his name when they discovered that his letter was not actually signed by both the Magaji and the Baale of the compound but allegedly by one Prince Liasu and his son.

To them, it was an affront by Prince Liasu to usurp the powers of both the Magaji and Baale of Weso’s compound.

As a result of this, the family called a meeting attended by 21 prominent members of Weso royal compound where they sought for new candidate.

Osun Mail learnt that four individuals signified their intentions but only one person, Prince Amusa Mudasiru Adeniyi-Kolapo was picked and his name has been forwarded to the kingmakers already.

However, Osun Mail learnt that Sogbo Ruling House presented Prince Olaide Ajibola Kolawole to the kingmakers, while Matanmi Ruling House did not bring forward any candidate.

However, the Amended Declaration made under Section 10 (1) of the Chiefs’ Law, Cap 25, 2003 of the Customary Law regulating the selection of candidates for the Ataoja of Osogbo Chieftaincy and approved on October 24, 2005 has clearly stated how Ataoja would emerge.

The Declaration listed the number and the identities of the Ruling Houses as Lajomo, Laro, Oyipi, Matanmi and Sogbo.

The order of rotation in which the ruling houses are entitled to provide candidates to fill successive vacancies in the chieftaincy title shall be Matanmi, Laro, Oyipi, Lajomo and Sogbo.

The late Oba Iyiola Oyewale, who joined his ancestors on Wednesday, August 4, 2010 hailed from Matanmi Ruling House.

Authentic names of contenders sent to Osogbo LG Chairman by Omumuyiwa compound alone

Prince Leo Adejare Muraina Awoyemi

Prince Musendiku Alamu Oyedeji

Prince Oladimeji Rasaki Gboyega

Although he is still in court challenging the victory of Governor Olagunsoye Oyinlola in the Saturday, April 14, 2007 polls, Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) governorship candidate, Rauf Aregbesola surprisingly disclosed that he will be contesting the 2011 General Election.

The new move by Aregbesola clearly showed that he has lost hope in reclaiming his so called stolen mandate being pursued by him for over three years now.

And in desperation to win the case, Aregbesola allegedly presented fake police report before Justice Thomas Naron-led Tribunal and also used the same document at the Appeal Court.

Aregbesola is now facing criminal charge before Justice Abubakar Talba of an Abuja High Court and the case will be coming up again on Tuesday, September 28, 2010.

But in an effort to weep-up sentiment against the bomb blast case hanging on some ACN members in Osun State, Aregbesola visited This Day newspapers office where an interview was conducted for him.

Aregbesola was asked of his legal appeal for 2007 governorship election, and he responded, “We have concluded all the processes and what do I mean, you will file your appeal. There are four other parties namely Oyinlola and his running mate combined, PDP as a party, police as a party and INEC as a party.

“They have all responded so we are waiting for the empanelling of the justices that will do justice to the matter and don’t forget the judiciary is on vacation now. Understandably that will come soon after the vacation.

Another question to Aregbesola by This Day is “While you are waiting for the Court of Appeal to hear the matter, as it stands now are you going to contest the 2011 Osun State governorship election?

He replied, “The simple answer is yes and affirmatively so. Then you must not forget that one does not supersede the other, one just leads to the other. While pursuing this, looking at the almost impossible deadline purportedly confirmed by INEC (Independent National Electoral Commission) one will say there could be an over lap.

“Whatever it is, I am pursuing the case believing that that is the only way we can do justice to it and knowing that justice in itself is the foundation of every society. We are looking forward to engage the enemies of the people in whatever theatre of engagement. So, I am telling you that while pursuing the appeal we are not unmindful of the need to engage them electorally.

Lukman Hammed and Wasiu Ibrahim, standing trial on a two-count charge for conspiracy and armed robbery have applied for bail before Justice Oyejide Falola of the Osogbo High court.

The application for bail was tendered by Taiwo Awokunle, saying the allegations levelled against them could still be altered since their case file has been sent to the office of the Director of Public Prosecution Osun state, for legal advice.

That the office of the Director of Public Prosecution Osun state, may take some time in rendering the said legal advice as there is no stipulated time by law within which it should be rendered. Also, that no information or proof of evidence had been filed against the Applicants in any court.

According to the police statement charge sheet, Lukman and Wasiu were arrested by Special Anti-Robbery squad, Oke-baale; Osogbo, at the instance of their friend named, Busuyi Ajayi, and charged on two count charge for conspiracy and armed robbery.

Lukman and Wasiu in their statement of claim averred that they agreed to go for an outing with Ajayi, but that Ajayi failed to show up on the agreed date, until about three days later.

They met on their way to a friends place and decided to go together. On getting there, they all drank a bottle of Schnapps, got excited, an argument ensued about Ajayi disappointing them, and it led to a fight.

As the fighting continued, Ajayi shouted thief on them, which alerted residents of the area. Not knowing what actually led to the fight, the residents of the area called the police, and handed them over.

Justice Oyejide asked for response from the defendants counsel, O. O. Babalola (Ms), and the counsel informed the court that the police still refused to send the case file to her office, did not oppose the bail application, with emphasis that the motive of bail is for applicants be present any time the court demands.

Justice Oyejide Falola, reading the application and affidavit before him, admitted the first and second applicants bail in the sum of N250, 000.00 with two sureties each in like sum. One of the sureties must be parent or sibling of the applicant. Each applicant must depose to the affidavit of means with two self passports. Also each surety must have a verifiable address, and attach current tax clearance certificate to the application.

Magistrate Adewumi Makanjuola of an Osogbo Magistrate Court has sentenced a 20-year -old Adebisi Niniola to one month imprisonment with hard labour for stealing two bags of cement.

The accused person who pleaded guilty to the charge preferred against him was said to have on Sunday, August 22, 2010 at about 11: am at Zone 8 Area Behind Capital Hotel, Osogbo stolen two bags of cement valued N3, 260,000 properties of Sunday Adegbaju.

The accused person was said to have committed an offence contrary to and punishable under Section 390 of the Criminal Code Cap 34 Vol. 11 laws of Osun state of Nigeria, 2003.

The police prosecutor in charge of the case, Fagboyinbo Abiodun who presented the fact of the case stated that in the statement of the accused person, Adebisi said he boarded motorcycle from Agunbelewo Area and went to the house of the complainant. When he got there, he said he did not see anyone in the premises and used the opportunity that situation presented to steal two bags of cement and ran away

Unfortunately for him, the motorcyclist that took him to the place where he stole the cement however alerted the people in the area and the accused was subsequently arrested and dragged to police station.

An arbiter, M.A. Shittu appeared for the accused person and pleaded the court to temper justice with mercy regarding the case. He said the action of the accused person showed that he stole as a result of poverty, adding that he has regretted his action.

A week-long cultural activities in Osun state climaxed on Friday with the celebration of the grand finale of the yearly Osun Osogbo Festival.

The festival, which was held for the first time without an Ataoja on the throne, was also used to bid a final good bye to the late Oba Iyiola Oyewale Matanmi, who died on August 4 this year.

The absence of a sitting monarch did not, however, rob the festival of its usual glamour and rich cultural display.

Many traditional chiefs, age groups and other socio-cultural organisations, amid pomp, paid homage to the late Ataoja, who was symbolically represented by the crown and the staff of office, which were put on his throne where the Oba ought to have sat in the Grove.

The festival which attracted a very large number of people was also witnessed among other dignitaries by the state Governor, Prince Olagunsoye Oyinlola, the Minister of Culture, Tourism and National Orientation, who was represented by an official of the ministry, Mr. Bamidele Sobayo and other top political functionaries in the state and at the federal level.

Also in attendance were blacks in Diaspora who had been in Osogbo since last weekend to attend the Conference of Black Nationalities and the Colloquium on Slavery, Slave Trade and Their Consequences, hosted by the state government with the support of UNESCO and the Federal Government.

Oyinlola in his speech expressed delight that the significance of the festival had increased considerably, growing beyond the confines of Osogbo, Yorubaland and Nigeria to become an international tourism event.

According to him, versions of the festival are being marked by Yoruba in Diaspora in Brazil , France and the United States .

He said he was proud to lead the administration which, according to him, had more that its predecessors, ensured that “our common heritage is preserved, sustained and maintained as a unique cultural identity.”

The governor said given the place of tourism in promoting international understanding, his administration would always place premium on the growth of the sector as a means of generating employment, foreign exchange and in creating socio-cultural integration and goodwill among nations.

He reiterated the commitment of his administration to make the state one of the world’s foremost cultural destinations adding that the government would reduce the dominance of the public sector in the state’s economy by encouraging the development of a viable and responsive private sector.

Calling on investors in cultural tourism to come to the state, the governor said the determination of his administration to accord priority to tourism and culture informed its decision to sponsor the just-concluded Global Conference of Black Nationalities and the Colloquium on Slavery.

He said the response of the international community to the invitation to discuss the promotion of peace and international understanding had encouraged the government to make the event a yearly one.

The minister’s representative said the Federal Government would continue to support Osun in promoting culture and tourism.

The Chief Imam of the University of Ilorin (UNILORIN)and Director of Academic Planning of the Institution, Professor Abdul-Ganiyy Oladosu has urged Muslims to be devoted and steadfast in their practice of the religion.

Preaching a sermon on “Islam, Politics and the Nigerian Nation” during a lecture organized by Aragbiji Ramadan Committee at Aragbiji’s palace, Iragbiji , the cleric said the essence of human creation was to magnify the Almighty Allah.

He said, “The purpose of our creation is to acknowledge, remember, appreciate, magnify, commend and glorify the Almighty Allah”.

According to him, the Almighty Allah stated in the glorious Qur’an, “Never did I create the congregation of jinn and mankind except for one single purpose and that single purpose is for them to worship me.”

Making reference to Surah Ash-Shurah in the holy Qur’an, the Chief Imam said that able individual that refuse or reject to worship the Almighty Allah has defeated the purpose of his creation.

“Millions of thousand of people are created and condemned to fate because they have hearts with which they never think, eyes with which they never see, ears with which they never hear,” he said.

He preached further that if an individual did not appreciate the Almighty Allah , an animal like a goat, a big, or a dog was better than him or her, saying ‘’you will bear witness that there is no deity worthy of worship except the Almighty Allah’’.

‘’The Almighty Allah is the beginning and the end. He is the first without a starting point. He is the last without a point of termination. Allah says, hears and knows ahead of time’’, he submitted.

Correcting misconceptions held by some Muslims about Islam, the UNILORIN Imam said Islam did not end at performing the five daily obligatory prayers, fasting during the month of Ramadan, giving arms to the needy and going to Mecca for Hajj, as believed by some people. Each of these acts of worship, according to him, was not an end, but a means to achieving an end.

He said there were deeds whose rewards surpassed any of these common Islamic practices.” Islam is not only about obligatory prayers .Islam has to do with our social, economic and political life. Islam is the totality of life’’, he said.

Addressing the topic further, the Islamic scholar bemoaned Nigerian leaders for the present sorry state of the nation’s socio-political and economic life. According to him, Nigeria’s problems were attributable to the tragedy of insensitive, greedy and callous leadership.

Answering questions asked by the congregation among whom were the Aragbiji of Iragbiji, Oba Abdur-Rasheed Olabomi and Alagba of Aagba, Oba Rufus Iwaloye, among other royal fathers, on the possibility of having free and fair election in the forthcoming 2011 general elections, the lecturer said there could never be a free and fair election without a credible electoral process.

“To have a credible election in Nigeria, people’s mandate must be of topmost priority. There should be no stuffing of ballot boxes. Money-bag politics must be discouraged. Elections must not be held at unaccredited centers. There must be patriotic police and impartial electoral body. Under age voting should be resisted. And more importantly, the concerned authorities should ensure impeccable voters register,” he said.

*Says I want to walk again

For the family of Akintubu of Igbodo street, Iyanigan Compound, Igbolokun, Ile-Ife, Osun State it has been sorrow and tears these two years as a result of fatal accident which has incapacitated one of them.

Yetunde, a 21 years old student who reside in Ilorin with members of her family was involved in an incident precisely on Tuesday, September 23, 2008 along ugheli/Warri express road when she was going to collect her admission letter into Auchi Polytechnic.

Thank God, the accident did not claim her life but affected her spinal cord and since then Yetunde has been in pain with her inability to move her lower limbs, accompanied by urinary and faecial inconveniencies.

For Yetunde who completed her secondary education at C.A.C, Secondary School, Gaa-Akanbi, Ilorin in 2006 the hope of furthering her education had been shattered as a result of the accident.

The accident victim with tears and pain told reporters that when the accident occurred, she remained unconscious before she was rescued from the wreckage of the car by some good Samaritans and probably it was in the process of pulling her out with force that her lower limb disc was damaged, she remained unconscious for days before she was backed to life.

She was firstly admitted to University of Benin Teaching Hospital where Doctors battled relentlessly to save her life before she was transferred to University of Ilorin Teaching Hospital for further treatment.

At the University of Ilorin Teaching Hospital , Yetunde went through series of tests before she was confirmed by the consultant Neuro surgeon, Doctor T.O. Odebode to have suffered paraplegia.

According to the consultant, Yetunde is suffering from “Thoracic Spinal Cord injury at T4 (wedge comprehension of the body of T4). Presently, she is paraplegia and will require surgery (diskectomy and corpectomy) which will be done in India with an estimate of 2million naira for the surgery)”.

Yetunde’s father, Olusegun Akintubu and mother Bola determined to make their daughter walk again have taken her to different miracle centres both in Ilorin and Lagos in search of divine solution.

In one of those trips to Lagos to see Prophet Temitope Joshua of Synagogue of All Nations, Mr. Akintubu said he had to hire an ambulance that took them to Lagos but had to return to Ilorin disappointedly after spending seven days in an hotel and unable to see the prophet.

Her parents said they have spent all their life savings to keep their daughter alive and to make her walk again and further her education. Yetunde also appealed to well meaning people in and outside the country to save her life as she said living is becoming her nightmare for her.

“Please help me tell kind hearted Nigerians that I want to walk again. They should come to my aid, because I don’t want to die in this condition, they should come to my rescue and save my life.”

“Presently it is only my hands that are functional. I don’t fill any sensation if anybody touches the lower part of my body. I defecate on my body, because I cannot sit or stand up.”

“I am pleading to Nigerians to assist by saving my life, because my parents have spent all their life savings on my treatment. They should please sponsor my treatment abroad so that I don’t die like this”

For any assistance to this promising young lady, she can be reached through these Phone Numbers. 07037555025 or 080507992805.

With her playful nature but strict parents, the Supreme being designed already what Tope will be in Life. She planned to be in the drama Ministry, but by divine calling, she used her skill for Soundtrack music, and today she is an isle in the music realm of Nigeria. TOPE ALABI is not only known alone at home, but her fame also extends across the shores of Nigeria. Her gait and gift had made her Divinely Blessed.

THE BEGINNING….

My name is Evangelist Temitope Patricia Alabi, born to Pa Joseph Akinyele Abayomi and Madam Agnes Kehinde Abayomi of Yewa-Imeko, Ogun state.

I started my primary education in Lagos, and then proceeded to Oba Akinyele Memorial High School, Bashorun, Anlugbua Ibadan, Oyo state. I later went to The Polytechnic, Ibadan to study Mass Communication and graduated in 1990.

My growing up was not too much fun because I was the only girl among three children, though I was the playful type, yet my parents were strict disciplinarians of the highest order.

My interest in music and drama dates back to when I was in secondary school. It was during my OND program at Ibadan, that I joined ‘Jesters International’ (Jacob, Papilolo and Aderupoko) group.

After my ND, I worked as a correspondent with Nigerian Television Authority (NTA). Later on I moved to NTA channel 7 Tejuosho, (now NTA channel 10, Lagos). For more knowledge in the advertising world, I got employed in Centrespread Advertising Ltd.

In 1994, I went fully into Theatre Art profession by joining Alade Aromire Theatre group. It was in this group that I became exposed to the rudiments of drama and acting profession. At a point in time, I helped Alade to sing soundtrack for his production, he called me and said the wordings of the soundtrack was amazing. He then advised me to focus more on my strength, and here we are today.

I am more known for my soundtrack production, and it has made me an authority in the Nigeria Yoruba movie industry. I have worked with various writers, producers and directors in the movie industry, via production of soundtrack. Up to date, I have about 350 soundtracks to my credit.

THE PRESENT…..

Today, I am known as ‘Ore ti o common’ aka AGBO JESU. My success is attributed to my calling. Right from my childhood; it was revealed to my mother that I would be an instrument for God. In 1988, I got a divine message from a man of God that God wanted me to be a vessel of soul winning for him, through music. I didn’t know how God was going to do it, but I trusted in him, because he is Jehovah Overdo.

The way to my salvation started when I met my husband, Soji Alabi. He was a producer and he was always in the studio. So whenever I go to the studio for recording, I do see him. He was the one that led me to Christ and God also used him to minister to me that I can actually use my talents and gifts for God.

I met my husband at the studio in 1994. He was a professional studio engineer, and we started our relationship on the platonic level. He was always there for me in periods when I am going through difficult time. I do feel depressed that the work I was doing then was not bringing in money, but he encouraged me that I should be patient, that the more people know me, and if my work is good, then the money will come in. In 1998 he asked me to marry him, but I laughed it off and when he wouldn’t let me be, I agreed to his proposal, then we started our courtship and on Saturday November 16, 2000 we got married.

Being in this ministry wasn’t easy at the beginning, if I have to narrate the experience it will take time, but I thank God for his grace which is sufficient for me.

When I got born again, things took a new turn for me, because I obtained divine grace and inspiration. In the year 2000, I got a revelation from God through dream, and this gave me the conviction that the Lord had prepared me to work for him.

I have released many albums, the first titled ‘Iwo la kepe’. In September 2001, I released another album titled, ‘Ore ti o common’. My third album was titled ‘Certificate’, after which I released a double album called ‘Agbara Olorun and Agbara re ni’. Alongside all the albums, there is a special track I released for soul winning, it was titled Kokoro Igbala. In 2008, I released ‘Angeli Mi’, and in 2009, I released another album titled ‘Mori ‘Yanu’.

The album that challenged me was Angeli mi, but when it eventually came out, it surprised me that it became more popular than previously released one. It also challenged me that I have to do more and not rest on my oars.

I have produced a Christian movie which is titled Atijo, and it was released in 2007. Whatever gift God gives man, if well used, will make way for him. Whether or not you use it well, you must give account of it in heaven.

The singing and acting talent I have is as a result of Gods gift, blessing and destiny fulfillment for me. Let’s just say that I inherited my singing skill from my mother and grandmother. My mum was a good composer. There are some soundtracks which I used but it was composed by her. So I give her credit for leading me in the right part. For example, she made sure I was part of the children choir when I was young.

To the glory of God, all of my albums are doing well in the market, and there are testimonies about the album. Gospel Soundtrack production brought me more fame than other secular soundtrack.

Carrying the vision God had for me would not have been easy without the support of my husband. Together we believed and shared the same vision and goal, and the Lord has been faithful to us. We have our own studio called JOHNPAT studio. It enhances our production and it is also a pillar of blessing to upcoming artiste.

Because of my ministration, and because it touched peoples life, I received invitations from various churches owned by renowned men of God. And I pray that Gods message through me and my husband will spread all over the universe.

There is no album I released, which won’t have the hand of God in it. My inspiration comes from God. Funny enough, at times I do receive instruction of what to do even when I am in the bathroom, and then I develop it. For example when I was working on Agbara Olorun, it was supposed to be an album, one day while in the bathroom, God spoke to me on what to add to it, I asked if the instruction was for another album, but he said yes and that the two album must be released together. I asked for the title and he gave me Agbara re ni.

There is something which some gospel artiste are doing, and which I feel is wrong, and that is praise singing individuals in the middle of gospel music. When we are singing gospel, there is no one we are supposed to praise except God. If it is outside that, then it is no more a gospel music.

Looking back I don’t regret being a vessel of Gods work. Infact I enjoy it so much. Who knows, what would have happened to me if I had not been obedient to his calling. I thank God for my life.

To the glory of God, I have received numerous awards. Sometime ago, I received the award of the best Gospel Artiste for the year 2009. And by coming year, I will be ten years on stage.

THE FUTURE……

Looking ahead with the help of God, I intend to have my own music school. This will be a source of destiny finder for upcoming artiste. It will be a training ground for beginners and also seminar ground for those who are already into music. Whatever one does in life, there is need for revitalization, as this will re-boost the knowledge and gift of what you already know or have.

Also I plan to be open for the usage of God, via more production of gospel messages through gospel music.

Let me use the opportunity to thank my fans for their loyalty, and I also commend them for opening their heart to God through gospel music. I want them to know that it is one thing to listen; it is another thing to be a doer of the word of God.

My advice to upcoming artiste is to be patient and deft to learn. They shouldn’t be in a hurry to rush into the studio. If they are for gospel, I believe they must have a calling for it, because God doesn’t give the same vision to two people, instead he gives you different vision. Except you don’t obey God’s vision for your life, then he repeats the vision to another person, and if they are for secular music, they must research and rehearse well for something new for the music they want to produce. They must not be photocopy, but original.
